JESUS IS GOD - IN HUMAN FORM

Jesus is God - in Human form
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt (Lived) among us." (John 1:1, 14a)

"Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled: 'Behold, a vigin shall be with child, and bear a Son and they shall call His name Immanuel,' which tramslated, 'God with us.'" (Matthew 1:22a,23)

"For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

JESUS CHRIST - OUR PERFECT SACRIFICE
"...Who knew no sin..." (2 corinthians 2:21)"Who did no sin." (1 Peter 2:22a)No sacrifice (offering)man could make was PERFECT enough to take away sins.

"For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins." (Hebrews 10:4)Jesus is the Lamb of God. "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John 1:29b)

IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR THE HUMAN RACE WHEN ADAM AND AVE SINNED

It was a sad day for the Human race when Adam and Eve sinned

"....Through one man sin entered the World, and deathe through sin, and thus death spread to all men..." (Romans 5:12)

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER
Every person is born with sin nature and will someday die because death came by sin. (read Romans 5:12 again)

GOD'S PLAN TO RESCUE US FROM SIN WAS TO SEND HIS ONLY SON
"And she will bring forth a son, and you shall call His name JESUS , for He will save His people from their sins." (Matthew 1:21)

To enter the human race, the Son of God had to come as a human baby.
"For in Him (Christ Jesus) dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." (Colossians 2:9)

Adam and Eve Disobeyed God

Adam and Eve disobeyed God

We should never listen to the voice of Satan
"Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and eveil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat it you shall surely die.'"(Genesis 2:15-17)

THE SEPRPENT , ALSO CALLED THE DEVIL OR SATAN, QESTIONED GOD'S AUTHORITY AND TOLD A LIE.
"And the seperpent said to the woman, 'You will not surely die.' So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took...and ate. She also gave to her hsband... and he ate."(Genesis 3:4,6)

ADAM AND EVE COULD NO LONGER STAY IN THE GARDEN
"The Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken. He placed cherubim... and a flaming sword... to guard the way to the tree of life. (Genesis 3:23b,24b)

The Gifts Of The Spirit 6 - 9

The Gift og the SpiritSt. Paul lists in 1 Corinthians 12, nine gifts or manifestations of the Spirit. These are the Supernatural tools or equipment for Christian service. Any Spirit filled Christian can manifest any of these gifts as the Spirit directs.

6. DISCENING OF SPIRITS is a supernatural gift which enables us to discen the differnce between the Holy Spirit, the human spirit and the evil spirits. It is not the descning of character nor of faults.

7. THE GIFT OF PRPHECY is an anointing of the Holy Spirit to speak the words of God. It is always for our direction, upbuilding and encouragement. Sometimes it may be for predicting future events, if God wants us to know them.

8. THE GIFT OF TONGUES is a supernatural means of God's communication with His people. It is a message given in a language unknown to the speaker and is always used in conjunction with the gift of interpretation. The gift of tongues is not to be confused with the use of tongues as the sign of Baptism in the Holy Spirit, or with tongues used in private prayer and intercession, or with some foregn language used as a means of communication between people.

9. THE GIFT OF INTERPRETATION OF TONGUES gives back in ones own language the meaning of what was said in the gift of tongues. These two gifts operating together are equivalent to prophecy. The exeercise of ny of these gifts requires cooperation between us & the Holy Spirit.

The New Language

The New Language

The new language which the Spirit has given us is not only a sign of the initial reception of the gift of the Spirit, but also of His continuing presence. You do not have to wait for a special 'anointing' or sense of presence of the Holy Spirit to pray in tongues. It can be used at will and should be used continually to build yourself up. God's gifts are given for a purpose. It is very important to pray in tongues. Practice this new language of the Spirit until it becomes as natural as breathing. As you do, you will experience a new peace and joy of knowing the presence of the Lord.

God's Word tells us that praying in the Spirit 'edifies' us, or builds us up in the Lord. (1 corinthians 14:4) God's Word tells us also that we build up our faith by praying in the Holy Spirit. (Jude 20) You will later find this is one of your weapons in repelling the attacks of Satan.

How to receive

How to receive

You may wish to have Spirit filled Christians lay hands on you as Paul did in Acts 19:6 to the twelve believers at Epheasus, or you may wish to wait upon the Lord as the 120 did on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, or just listen as Cornelius did in Acts 10:44-46. Praise God for His variety!

Raise your hands to the Lord, close your eyes and let your mind dwell on Jesus, be happy in Jesus, as you ask your Father in Heaven for what He has promised you. Start praising His name, raise your voice to Him. He will not force you to speak in tongues. As the Lord places a strange word in your mind, speak it out boldly, your lips may stammer, but as you boldly repeat the word, the spirit will give you more words. Sometimes only a few words come initially, but as you continue to speak forth in faith the Lord will give you a complete vocabulary with which to praise God.

Psalm 23 - Placing the Horse Before the Cart

Psalm 23 - Placing the Horse Before the Cart

Points to Contemplate:
Is God leading you beside still waters? Has He restored you soul? When the darkness of fear and doubt fills your heart are you able to take solace in God's green pastures and allow Him to fill you with His peace? What does it feel li! ke to have your soul restored? Are you reenergized and filled with confidence? Are you ready to take on the world and face whatever it dishes out? Do you feel more hopeful and do you see more good than evil in the world?

Is God leading you in His paths of righteousness? Or are you leading Him into your paths of self-righteousness? Who is doing the leading? Have you developed ideas of right and wrong and look to God to justify your way of thinking? Do you search the Bible for verses that tend to agree with your stance and opinions? Do you find yourself praying for God to bless your actions and deeds? Or do you pray for the wisdom, guidance, and sensitivity to be able to do what God would have you do?

For what are you anointed? If God has blessed your life and His bounty is overflowing, what is your response? Does He bless you simply because He loves you? Are you simply a recipient of His unbounded goodness and mercy? Or, is it possible that in your anointing you have been called to do kingly things in kingly ways for His kingdom? What new things, today are you going to do in God's name as you follow His pathway to righteousness?

Promises of the Gospel:John 9:1-41 - Blindness of the Spirit

Promises of the Gospel:

Three times the Pharisees in this story refused to believe in the healing love of God. Three times their blindness and lack of faith is revealed. Three times they choose to turn from the light of God and, instead, turn inward towards their blind world of piety and self-righteousness. By writing this story in such detail, John reveals to us the importance of opening our hearts to God so the blindness of self-centeredness in our lives can be healed. Sitting in our chairs of religiosity, judging and condemning the world, is the greatest sin we can commit. When we worship God and focu! s on His love, our eyes are opened to His guiding spirit. With this new sight, miracles occur wherever He leads. With this open willingness to serve, we become the light of Christ in a world of darkness. "All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent (Jesus), because there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end."

John 9:1-41 - Blindness of the Spirit

John 9:1-41 - Blindness of the Spirit

Points to Contemplate:Are you blind? What is the cause of your blindness? Is your blindness a permanent disability or are you willing to allow the healing love of Jesus Christ into your heart? Will you go where He sends you in order to be healed? Or, has your heart been hardened by self-righteousness? Does your blindness come from your failure to look for God's presence in your life? Is it as a result of the choices you have made not to respond to His guiding Spirit?

Are you carrying out the tasks of God? Do you see each moment and situation in your life as an opportunity to do the work of God? Are you reflecting the light of Christ into this darkness? If not, who will?

What spiritual blindness in your life needs healing? What guilt and sin remains in your life because you claim to see but do not? In what ways are you draping your self in robes of religious self-righteousness that keep you from truly seeing the kingdom of heaven? Are you focused on specific verses in scripture that support your thoughts and opinions? Do you judge the world through eyes of piety and superiority? Do you tend to condemn the sinners of the world or do you reach out to them with the light of God's love? Are you a Pharisee, well versed and proud? Or are you a simple sinner ready to do the work of God?

A word of Advice

A Word of Advice.

Do not seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit if you do not honestly in your heart wish to be obedient to God and want Him to guide your life.Once we learn to tune in to the leading of the Holy Spirit, we become a target for Satan, and he may try to confuse us by supernatural leadings. Most people have had some contact with the occult, that is, fortune telling, horoscopes, magic practices and games, spiritism, or false religious teachings. This occult involvement breaks the first commandment, is an abomination unto God and gives Satan legal access to our lives. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) Anytime one seeks supernatural answers without going through Jesus Christ, Satan has the right to answer. If one seeks the baptism in the Holy Spirit without first renouncing the entire occult involvement, he opens his life further to mental, physical and spiritual oppression. If you are seeking the baptism in the Holy Spirit it is vital that you confess your faith in Jesus, confess all involvement in occult sins, and promise to destroy all books and objects of the occult. (Acts 19:19) Renounce Satan and all his works in your life and command him to depart in Jesus' name.

We must pray for discernment, become educated in Satan's tactics, and realize that all things supernatural do not come from God. First John 4:1 tells us to "believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God". Many people have fallen to this deception as they in ignorance thought themselves immune to attacks because of the baptism. First Peter 5:8 written to Spirit filled Christians tells us to "be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a devour." We do not state this to discourage anyone. We have no need to fear, simply be alert to resist Satan and he will flee. (James 4:7) We also have the assurance of God's word in Luke 11:11-13.

MUST I SPEAK IN TONGUES?

Must I speak in tongues?

Yes this is important! This is a gift from God, why would you refuse it? To refuse tongues is to refuse to yield yourself completely to God. If you will not yield completely, you cannot be used completely. It is important that you speak in tongues.

Who is it for?

Only for the 'born again' Christians. The Holy Spirit is not available to the world (the unsaved). (John 14:16-17) If you are not sure you are born again, before you seek the baptism. When you have truly become one of God's children, then "Your Heavenly Father will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him." (Luke 11:13)

It is not only for the apostles, or Jews, or people who lived in the days of the apostles, but for all saved people in every age. (Acts 2:38,39) It is for all Christians that want a righteous life. "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled." (Matthew 5:6)

Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?

Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?

The Apostle Paul asked this very important question of the twelve saved disciples of Christ, at Ephesus. (Acts 19:2) They were statled by the question and answered, "We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Spirit". Later in acts 19:6 when they prayed together, "The Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues, and prophesied". This should have been expected since in all four gospels we are told that Jesus will baptize with the Holy Spirit.

What is it for?

Power for service, "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Spirit has come upon you". (Acts 1:8) Power in witnessing, not only in words but in claiming healing, deliverance, in prayer, in understanding the Word and Power to overcome sin and live a victrious life. (Romans 8:26;John 16:14;Luke 24:49; Acts 9:17-20) Even Jesus healed because He was filled with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 10:38) It is the power for your specific ministry.
