“Momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.” – 2 Corinthians 4:17

To an infinitely greater degree, God knows how to shape our lives into vessels that reflect His glory and fulfill His purposes. But we must cooperate with Him. The Lord promises a life of blessing and “an eternal weight of glory.” Although these sound like wonderful results, along the way He sometimes has to bring us through what Paul called “momentary, light affliction.” These may be struggles or problems of various kinds. We may face situations that stretch us or force us to confront our weaknesses. At times, we even may wonder if God has forgotten us. At times like these, we must realize that God is perfecting us. He wants to bring us to new dimensions and teach us more about Himself and His Word. He is helping us experience an “eternal glory” that will make every difficulty worthwhile. Brothers & Sisters, In your life, remember that God is at work to bring you to perfection (Philippians 1:6). Commit the challenges of your life to Him. Trust Him and cooperate with Him. Have faith that He will bring you through every trial, meet every need, and help you emerge as more victorious than ever before.
