“The great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”Revelation 12:9

By definition, deception is the “practice of misleading somebody,” making them think one thing, but then doing another. The Bible says deception is central to Satan’s character. He wants us to wander away from the right course and go astray. The enemy doesn’t want us to remain stable or committed to God, but wants to fool us into thinking his ways are beneficial. Satan promises excitement, pleasure, and rewards. He seeks to deceive us about God’s Word, saying it’s narrow-minded and outdated. He does everything possible to keep us from experiencing God’s blessings. In fact, Satan seeks to deceive “the whole world”—Christians and non-Christians, rich and poor, men and women, young and old, politicians and celebrities, students and scholars, entire nations…everyone! He doesn’t play fair, but will do anything to win—lie, cheat, spread rumors, or make false accusations. He succeeds when someone believes his lies. Brothers & Sisters Today, remember that Satan wants to deceive you! Be warned. Be on guard. Remember that in the name of Jesus you have power over the enemy. When you resist him, he must flee from you. Put on the full armor of God. Take up the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Stand for truth. Develop an intense prayer life. And beware of deception! PROTECTED FROM DECEPTION!
